The Addams family is not your normal, American family. They are what you would consider eccentric.
The family is made up of Gomez, the father, and Morticia, the mother. Then there's Wednesday, the daughter, and Pugsley, the son, who for all intensive purposes seem to get along well. Their Uncle Fester lives with them, as does GranMamma and the butler, Lurch.
The couple are as in love today as the day they first married. They romance each other on a near daily basis and can sometimes be so oblivious to those around them--including their own children--that they think they are the only two in the house.
What's so cool about this television series is that the family REFUSES to do anything that would be considered normal and go out of their way to be DIFFERENT. Though there are some things I surely would not want my children playing with, I like the underlying message that it's okay to be different--even eccentric, if it makes you happy.
