Review: ZakLand

I Recommend

Using a blue screen, puppets, music, dancing, and skits Zak Morgan takes children on a magical adventure using their imaginations. While it’s strange to see so much of the set using the blue screen—and yes you can really tell it’s a blue screen—the skits are so much fun that you actually forget about the blue screen long enough to really enjoy the program. A program, I might add, that is designed to help our children gain a “CAN DO” mentality. And despite the overuse of the blue screen, it’s worth the $14.95 ticket price.

In ZakLand children are encouraged to read as they sound out long words that flash on the screen and then understand those words as Zak offers fun explanations. They are also encouraged to use their imagination as they help Marty the Bullfrog discover his own imagination, and believe in themselves as they learn how other characters discover the inner-strength to believe in themselves. They even learn the importance of working together as a team when they save the King’s birthday party and how to decipher the differences between instruments.

If you’re looking for a fun, fresh way to entertain and educate your kids with fun little facts or have enjoyed Zak Morgan in concert, then you’ll enjoy ZakLand: The Shiny Surprise.
